Jitterbug Perfume is an epic. which is to say, it begins in the forests of ancient Bohemia and doesn't conclude until nine o'clock tonight [Paris time]. It is a saga, as well. A saga must have a hero, and the hero of this one is a janitor with a missing bottle. The bottle is blue, very, very old, and embossed with the image of a goat-horned god. If the liquid in the bottle is actually is the secret essence of the universe, as some folks seem to think, it had better be discovered soon becaused it is leaking and there is only a drop of two left.

My best friend Brian came to visit me recently and brought with him some books he thought I should read. As we always do, passing books back and forth. And the copy he gave me has a special story as he took it to the Burning Man festival this year-and it was Validated.
And after reading it I can TOTALLY see why! It is simply an amazing book, with some hilaireous and insightful observations, Tom Robbins classic one-liners and things to think about, and partial truths that require furthur investigation. But would you really want to live forever? If only with the one you love…
